What the Truck? Go Country in Style With Mercedes-Benz X Class
Just when you thought you have seen it all, Mercedes-Benze has shifted gears to join in the profitable world of pickup trucks. The Mercedes-Benz X Class line of premium pickup trucks are as beautiful as they are practical, making Mercedes the new champion in all things luxury (as if they weren’t already). Now the highways and byways will be dotted with the sleek design and luxury that comes with the Mercedes brand in the form of a luxury truck.
On Tuesday of this week Mercedes-Benze showcased the concept model of a new mid-sized truck in Stockholm with an expected launch in latter months of 2017. For the high-class rednecks in Texas you’re going to have to wait. The United States is not the first place the new truck will hit the roads, even though Texans are known for their loyalty to their trucks, even naming them like family members. Initially, Mercedes Benz will launch the X-Class in Argentina, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and other European markets.
Whether units will be made for sale in the U.S. or not is still unclear, but with oil prices as low as they are, larger vehicles are more affordable to operate and highly profitable. It would make sense that they would open the new line of trucks to the worlds largest consumer of pickups.
The Mercedes-Benz X Class will be manufactured in Barcelona, Spain by Nissan, the Japanese auto maker, and in Argentina by French manufacturer, Renault. Each manufacturer strategically positioned to serve markets in Europe, South Africa, Australia, and South America respectively.
Touted as the “world’s first true premium pickup for the modern urban lifestyle,” the top model in the line will feature a 6 cylinder engine, all wheel drive, a 1 ton payload and a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons. The same luxury options available in the C, and V class will be optional for the X class trucks.
“Our future X-Class will be a pickup that knows no compromise.”
So as Mercedes Benz “goes country” our fellow Texan’s are foaming at the mouth to get a piece of the action. Texas trucks, which are known for their suspension lifts and big tires might be the new look for those wishing to “Cowboy Up” in style. Of course these kinds of alterations may come at a hefty price and perhaps void some warranties. Still the Mercedes brand has always been known for its excellence and longevity.
At Cedes Repair we welcome the opportunity to serve our new Mercedes truck owners when they hit the greatest nation in the world. Until then, we are proud to serve our existing clients with all of their Mercedes Benz repair needs.
